Warranty

Please see below the warranties offered in addition to your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

At Auspatios Direct we only supply gear we’d happily put on our own homes, and the roofing in your kit is backed by a genuine, long-term manufacturer’s warranty. Here’s exactly what’s covered, for how long, and how to make a claim if you ever need to. Whatever this page says, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law always apply on top.

The 15-year manufacturer’s materials warranty

The steel roofing supplied in our patio and carport kits is manufactured by Ausdeck Patios & Roofing, an established Australian roofing manufacturer and our supplier. As an authorised Ausdeck dealer, we supply their roofing to you with the benefit of Ausdeck’s materials warranty.

Both our single-skin (V-Line) roofing and our insulated roofing (Ribbed, Corrugated and Marine Plus profiles) carry a 15-year warranty against defects caused by the manufacturing process, running from the date of purchase. If covered roofing material is found to have a genuine manufacturing defect within that period, Ausdeck will repair or replace the affected material. The warranty covers the materials themselves; it does not cover labour or the associated costs of removal and reinstallation.

The steel used in the roofing is also subject to the steel manufacturer’s own warranty terms. Where that manufacturer’s warranty period is shorter than 15 years, the shorter period applies to that component.

Keeping your warranty valid

To keep the manufacturer’s warranty in place, a few sensible conditions apply:

  • Install the roofing in line with the supplied installation manual, using suitably experienced or licensed people where required.
  • Don’t modify the materials without Ausdeck’s approval, and keep the supplied paint finish undamaged.
  • Keep surfaces and gutters clear so water drains freely, and wash down any sheltered areas not cleaned by rain on a regular basis (around every six months, or every three months for Marine Plus).
  • Avoid contact with dissimilar metals, chemicals, soils and wet or treated timber.
  • Sites within one kilometre of marine or heavy-industrial environments have additional conditions, and Marine Plus is the profile built for tougher coastal locations.
  • For insulated roofing, note that some darker colours can run hot, and the warranty does not cover heat damage above the manufacturer’s temperature threshold for those colours.
  • The kit needs to be paid for in full.

What isn’t covered

This is a materials warranty for manufacturing defects, so it doesn’t cover things outside the manufacturer’s control, including:

  • damage during handling, storage or installation;
  • storms, floods, lightning and other acts of God;
  • normal wear, neglect, misuse or deliberate damage;
  • corrosion from pollutants, chemicals or a corrosive atmosphere;
  • unauthorised modification, or incorrectly installing or moving the materials; and
  • problems caused by not following the installation manual or the care conditions above.

Installation itself isn’t covered, because we supply the kit and you arrange the build. More on that below.

How to make a claim

If you think you have a warranty issue, get in touch with us first and we’ll help you through it. To make a claim you’ll need:

  • proof of purchase; and
  • a description and clear photos of the affected area.

We’ll help you lodge the claim with Ausdeck. Ausdeck may arrange to inspect the materials, and any repair or replacement is carried out at their discretion. If an inspection finds no covered defect, the inspection costs may be passed on, so it’s worth sending good photos up front. Claims need to be made within the 15-year warranty period, and the warranty applies to you as the original purchaser.

A note on installation

We supply patio and carport kits on a supply-only basis, which means you arrange installation yourself or through a qualified builder. The manufacturer’s warranty covers defects in the roofing materials, not the way they’re installed. Installing in line with the manual, and using suitably experienced or licensed trades where needed, both protects your warranty and keeps everyone safe. You’ll find more on this in our Terms & Conditions.

Your Australian Consumer Law rights

None of the above takes anything away from your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. The manufacturer’s warranty above is in addition to these rights, not instead of them.

Full warranty documents

This page is a plain-English summary. The complete manufacturer’s warranty statements, including the full terms and conditions, are published by Ausdeck and can be downloaded from their product pages:

You’ll find the warranty statement under the technical resources on each page. If you’d prefer, contact us and we’ll send the current documents through directly.
